Obviously, the most important aspect of a new mattress is how it feels to sleep in.
Firstly, the Sleepdog Mattress 7″ mattress will be a firmer feel as it uses 2″ of comfort foams over a foam core. So, if thickness is an issue for you and you require a thinner mattress this will do the trick. Although it is firmer than the 9″ it still has a nice feel, it is not rock hard, and this is due to the memory foam that is used. It has a 7 of 10 for firmness and does not bottom out like thinner mattresses. It still has support.
Second, the Big Dawg mattress is a bit softer but not super soft. It’s more of a medium at 5-6 of 10. This is because it has a 2″ quilt plus a 2″ memory foam layer. This model will provide more pressure relief for those with more aches and pains and do not want something very firm. Of the two for me at 200lbs I think the thicker one has a better feel. If it fits in your truck it is certainly more comfortable unless you are seeking something firmer. It is a bit softer but still is supportive from the good foam core.
The last thing you want is for the mattress to retain heat. During the summer months, it will feel like sleeping in a heater, causing you to sweat during the night. Thankfully, this isn’t something that you need to worry about when you purchase the Full Moon. It uses some innovative technology to keep you cool.
First the cover is breathable. This mattress does not use any foams that trap heat such as old school memory foam. It uses gel infused memory foam. Additionally, the firmer feel aids in sleeping cool since your body is not sinking way into the foam and hugging you which causes people to sleep warmer.
In my tests this mattress slept cool.
The Sleepdog mattresses being an all-foam mattress with gel infused memory foam it performs exceptionally well for motion reduction. Like most all foam mattresses you will not feel your partner moving around as much as some coiled mattresses. This is key for couples to not disturb each other in when adjusting positions or getting in/out of bed.
If you are buying your Sleepdog mattress for home use they will great on an adjustable base being an all foam mattress it will bend easily with an adjustable base.

The Sleep Doog mattresses for edge support are average. In the laying down position I did not experience a roll of the bed feeling but in the seated position it is just average. With that being said the mattress performs as it should in the laying down position. If sitting on the edge of the bed is important to you, you may want something thicker but these work well for truck and rv use.

Off-Gassing
One of the benefits of using environmentally friendly materials (which Full Moon does, CERTIPUR US foams) is the lack of harmful chemicals. Like most mattresses, you might get a little bit of a smell. However, this will quickly fade. You can speed the off-gassing process up by opening a window.
Any “new” smell should dissipate completely within a few days.

SleepDog® mattresses are DOT approved, meaning they meet the Department of Transportation’s stringent qualifications for an over the road mattress. According to the DOT, a flexible foam mattress must be at least four inches thick, rectangular in shape and compliant with all other sleeper berth requirements.
Overall Summary
These are nice made in America mattresses specifically sized for trucks and RV’s. The comfort is good on each of these mattresses, and they sleep cool which can be important for many truckers and campers, especially in the summer. I think the quality is good compared to the prices. They are well worth the cost and should perform well for most sleepers.
