The Newton Crib Mattress Review is around a 7 of 10 with 10 being the firmest. This is the ideal firmness for babies and toddlers as it still allows ease of movement. The kids will experience a sleeping “on” the bed feel vs “in” the bed which will allow them to move about easier and not get stuck on their stomach for example from sinking in too much.
The last thing you want is for the mattress to retain heat. During the summer months, it will feel like sleeping in a heater, causing you to sweat during the night. Thankfully, this isn’t something that you need to worry about when you purchase the the Newton mattresses. It uses some innovative technology to keep the kids cool.
Although it may be classified as a foam model, the Newton Crib Mattress consists of Wovenaire, which is 90% air and 10% food-grade polymer. Air pockets spread throughout make the mattress highly breathable. Cooling air circulation through these pockets prevents body heat from becoming trapped within the mattress as the baby or toddler sleeps. This performs exceptionally well for temperature.

Edge support of a kid or toddlers mattress is not so important compared to a normal adult size mattress with adults in it. But the mattresses edges are supportive so if your child does get towards the edges, they will not experience a roll off the Newton Mattress feeling and will be able to roll back to the middle easily.
The Newton Crib Mattress off-gasses very little and is GREENGUARD Gold certified, indicating that it has undergone chemical emissions testing. This does not use traditional foam either which is where most off-gassing comes from. These are a very safe design for kids and off-gassing is of little worry.

Overall this is a very nice product. It is the first crib mattress I have seen that can be washed inside and out. I think if it fits your budget this is a great, safe option for your child.
