The Mend Sleep Bliss Mattress is 12.5″ thick hybrid mattress that is packs a lot of features and is quite thick for a very good price.
Mend is a new brand that currently offers two models. The main flagship model is designed to unzip and allow the sleeper to flip the top 4″ of comfort foam to either sleep on a medium or a firm feel. This is one of my favorite designs I have seen.
The other mode is a eurotop that is designed to pack a punch but come in at a good price.
The pillowtop cover of the Mend Sleep Mattress has a designer circular knit pattern with a durable and soft blend of cotton and poly fibers that allow for great airflow and exceptional comfort.
1.5″ Comfort Quilt on top
A 1.5″ layer of convoluted for that allows for good airflow and pressure relief.
This layer is 1″ thick and adds deep support above the coils.
The 8″ hybrid coils are independent and prevent motion transfer. Under that is a .5″ base to allow the mattress to be used on multiple surfaces.
The Blis can be used on any solid surface. Whether you pop it on the floor, on a wood foundation, boxspring, platform with slats or an adjustable base it will perform great.
Obviously, the most important aspect of a new mattress is how it feels to sleep in.
Firstly, this mattress is thick for the price. Most other mattresses in this range are 10″ thick and not very nice. Others that are similar in thickness and price are not made in the USA, so that it is impressive it is this nice for that price and made in the US.
The mattress has a medium feel with i’d say a tad on the softer side vs the firmer side of medium. So it will work great for all sleeping positions but especially side sleeping. If you are stomach sleeping most of the time, I would go for something firmer.
Overall this is a very good quality for the price.
The last thing you want is for the mattress to retain heat. During the summer months, it will feel like sleeping in a heater, causing you to sweat during the night. Thankfully, this isn’t something that you need to worry about when you purchase the Adapt. It uses some innovative technology to keep you cool.
First the cover is breathable. This mattress does not use any foams that trap heat such as old school memory foam. In my tests this mattress did not trap heat more than any other mattress.
This mattress uses independent pocketed coils with a total of 4 inches of foam on top of those coils. It has a remarkable amount of foams above the coil for the price it comes in at.
Because it uses a large amount of foam and a pocketed coil unit you will find this mattress absorbs motion very well. Generally new hybrids are good at this but the adapt is above average in this area. You should not feel your partner move around much at all.
For a hybrid this performs as it should in this area. Much better than an old school interconnected coil unit.
The Bliss will great on an adjustable base.

The Bliss uses a good quality coil unit. When laying near the edge you will feel extra support to eliminate the “roll off the bed” feeling. The Bliss performed very well in this area. In the seated position this was average. But where it counts it performs as it should.
I found the process of ordering the Bliss to be straightforward. The checkout is simple.
Once you place your order, the mattress will be shipped. They use UPS. Because of this, you should be able to get the product fairly quickly. It will take around a week to arrive at your door.
This mattress comes in a box. This makes it easier to move into the right position. However, it can be heavy. Because of this, you might want to get a friend to help you lift it into the bedroom.
Once you have it in the bedroom, it’s time to remove the mattress from the box. It will be rolled up. Unroll it onto the bed. Then, you will need to wait for it to expand. You will need to wait for at least two hours before you put the sheets on. However, it will take around eight hours for the corner to fully expand.
It’s best to assemble the mattress in the morning. If you do this, it will be fully expanded by the time you are ready to go to bed at night.
I found the delivery and setup process to be fairly straightforward. I give this aspect 10 out of 10.
One of the benefits of using environmentally friendly materials (which Mend does, CERTIPUR US foams) is the lack of harmful chemicals. Like most mattresses, you might get a little bit of a smell. However, this will quickly fade. You can speed the off-gassing process up by opening a window.
Any “new” smell should dissipate completely within a few days.
Overall Summary
This mattress is very interesting to me considering you can change the feel. The quality is very good, the feel is great and the fact that you can change the feel is an amazing feature for those who are not sure what they like or considering you are buying it online and are not laying on it first. I think most people will like one of the firmness’s for sure. This is a nice mattress to consider and comes in at a good price when you consider the features and quality.
