So far this bed is great. We’ve had it for about 6 weeks. The two of us are opposites—he’s 6’, 220 lbs, stomach sleeper. I’m 4-10, 110lbs, side sleeper. This bed is working well for us. I wanted a hotel feel, he didn’t want it too plush. I think we achieved that. It’s definitely not too soft for my spouse, as I feared it would be. We both also sleep hot and this bed had helped in that realm. I’m glad I decided on this bed—the sleep trial really made a difference in that decision. Medium firmness, perfectly delivered and easy to set up. Some parts I thought could have expanded more but maybe because it’s a king. Doesn’t matter, we’ve had the bed for a couple of months and it’s been the best decision we’ve made for a long time!

I spent months and months researching mattresses on so many platforms and especially Reddit, where many confused potential mattress buyers end up. I searched for the best deal, best materials, and above all else, comfort. It’s hard to choose a mattress online but I definitely made the right decision with this one. I had been sleeping on a broken IKEA mattress, with huge bumps and sags because of broken springs so I was in a desperate position to finally decide on a mattress and get it in my bedroom asap. I unpacked this mattress on my own and it is definitely kind of heavy, but I’m not particularly strong and it was fine, I got it done and the actual set up of removing the plastic wrapping was incredibly easy and it sprung into life immediately. I strictly fall asleep on my stomach and then move around a lot throughout the night and thought I’d need a firmer mattress but my partner knows he loves softer mattresses, so we agreed on this one. I am absolutely overjoyed with our decision because it is a treat to get into bed every single time. There are noticeable ridges in the mattress that you can feel when you drag your legs or hands over it but I personally love it. It feels so supportive and well made, but also feels like a hug. It’s perfect for my needs and sleeping on my stomach has not caused any back or neck pain which I have experienced with much softer mattresses. I’d say that because of the natural materials, the fact that this is produced in California and the extreme comfort of the bed, it was an absolute bargain. I recommend this bed highly!
Off-gassing refers to the initial smells a mattress emits after you remove it from its shipping box. Poly foam and memory foam are associated with the strongest odors, but latex also releases some noticeable smells that many people liken to rubber. The Hybrid Latex’s off-gassing will be strong at first, but the smells should dissipate in a few days – if not sooner. You can place the mattress in a well-ventilated room while it expands to speed along this process and flush out bothersome odor.
Please note that mattresses delivered via White Glove couriers are not compressed for shipping. As a result, these beds may release less odor – but you should still expect at least some initial off-gassing regardless of which delivery option you select.
Using 100% natural Dunlop latex, our innovative, patent-pending foam makes waves. Literally. Brentwood Home cuts the foam to create zig-zagging waves that reduce motion transfer and create targeted support. At the bottom and top thirds of the latex, the contours elongate to reduce pressure points in the shoulder and hips and allow for a more contouring shape. In the middle third, they tighten, for ideal spinal support.
They also use up cycle denim scraps — the byproduct from when all cotton denim jeans are cut — to create a support layer that is natural, breathable, and reduces waste. The recycled denim pad is a high-performance thermoregulating material. So it isn’t stuffy, keeping your mattress airy and cool. It’s also free from volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which contribute to indoor air pollution. By up cycling this natural material, they prevent the denim scraps from ending up in the landfill.
The third layer is REPREVE® in the gentle cover of each Hybrid Latex Mattress. The material harnesses up to 57 ocean-bound plastic bottles per mattress to create a recycled polyester performance fabric. It’s durable, soft, and breathable. REPREVE® is used for activewear, swimwear, and outerwear — among brands like Patagonia®, Quicksilver®, and Toms® — and now mattresses. The effort reduces waste while repurposing single-use plastic bottles, buoying its functionality while preventing them from entering our waste streams and waterways.
Lastly, they use a durable fiber — one of the oldest cultivated plants in human history — derived from a blue flowering annual. The latex used gives the mattress a natural responsiveness and it has a noticeable bounciness on the surface. The coils used also add to the bed’s springy feeling. As a result, you will feel and generate motion across the surface whenever you get in and out of bed. Your sleep may be disrupted by your partners movement. The latex hybrid construction alleviates pressure very well. The Hybrid Latex is better suited to back and stomach sleepers – particularly those who weigh up to 230 pounds. The zoned latex prevents excessive sinkage beneath their heavier areas, and this helps to maintain an even surface for their body and less pressure around the neck, shoulders, and lower back. If you’re a back or stomach sleeper who weighs more than 230 pounds, then you may also find that the mattress alleviates pressure well – but some in this weight group will find the mattress a little too soft and sink more deeply.
Even compared to other latex hybrids, this mattress offers exceptional temperature neutrality. This can be attributed to its various components beginning with the wool batting layer, which is both breathable and moisture-wicking. Latex generally absorbs less body heat than foam, but this bed’s latex layer is ventilated to create added airflow near the surface of the mattress.
The coil system promotes air circulation to help the entire mattress maintain a comfortable core temperature. The denim batting layer is also very breathable, as is the organic cotton cover.

Brentwood Home offers a 25-year warranty for the Hybrid Latex. During the first 10 years of ownership, the warranty coverage will be non-prorated. This means you won’t pay anything – apart from transportation fees – to have your mattress repaired or replaced if a defect develops during this time.
Prorated coverage kicks in during year 11, when you’ll pay 50 percent of the original mattress price to have your Hybrid Latex replaced. This amount increases by 5 percent for each subsequent year until year 20, at which time you’ll pay 95 percent of the original price to replace the mattress for the duration of the warranty.
Under this warranty, sagging and body impressions in the surface measuring 2 inches or deeper are considered defects. Other issues, such as physical damage from misuse or improper foundational support, are not considered defects and will not warrant repairs or replacements.
The original mattress price to have your Luxe model replaced. This percentage will annually increase by 5 percent in years 12-15; 4 percent in years 16-20; and 1 percent in years 20-25.
Sagging or body impressions in the mattress surface are considered defects if they measure 1 inch or deeper. The warranty also covers physical flaws in the mattress that cause materials to split or crack. Other issues, such as physical damage or standard wear and tear, are not covered under this warranty.
The Hybrid Latex comes with a one-year trial period, which is much longer than the average sleep trial. Brentwood Home requires you to test out the mattress for at least 30 nights before you’ll be able to initiate a return. In the event of a return, Brentwood Home will issue a full product refund (minus White Glove charges, if applicable) and arrange for couriers to pick up the mattress from your residence for donation or recycling.
If you are dissatisfied with the Hybrid Latex, you can also exchange the mattress for another Brentwood Home model. However, this will void the remaining sleep trial and the replacement bed cannot be returned for a full refund.
