The Los Angeles Company founded in 2016 has been getting a lot of attention lately from being part of one of Ellen’s latest 12 Days of Christmas giveaways when she gave away one of their mattresses to everyone in the audience.

You will like the Puffy Mattress if you:

Like a memory foam feel without a “Stuck” feeling – Puffy mattress has a rather fast reacting comfortable mattress foam making it easy to move around and not giving you a stuck feeling designed to provide an excellent top layer sleeping surface.

Puffy has good body conformance without being overwhelming and maintains good bounce for a memory foam mattress.
Are a side sleeper

Want a memory foam feel and sleep hot
For us, Puffy mattress had no issues over heating. The gel infused memory foam disperses heat much better than old school traditional memory foam.

You might not like the Puffy Mattress if you:

Weigh 250lbs-280lbs or more
Although when you weight is dispersed you won’t have an issue bottoming out. A heavier person may not get a longer use of Puffy mattress.
Like more of a latex feel or a lot of bounce
Puffy uses gel memory foam on top which will have more hug than latex. Latex mattresses are also much bouncier too.
Want extra strong edge support
Puffy had no issues when in the sleeping position, but if you value solid edge support for sleeping and sitting down, you will want to consider something else.

The Puffy mattress cover is removable and washable. It is also stretchy and stays tight on the mattress. The clouds on the cover are a nice touch too, even though they get covered up!

My thoughts (Ross)

First of all, I liked that it uses a gel infused memory foam and not a cheaper alternative or non-gel infused memory foam.

The Puffy Mattress impressed me for the following reasons.

A.) To me the overall build and quality were excellent. It uses good quality foams and fabrics for its cover.

B.) The foam provides a nice pressure relief.

C.) It worked well in all sleeping positions. Especially side sleeping.

D.) It has a good medium firmness feel that will appeal to most of you out there.

E.) I like that it has good body conformance while decided to provide good bounce and allows movement without a stuck feeling.

One con would be that the foam core is not super dense, this is why I don’t recommend Puffy to heavier people.

Her thoughts (Kayla)

For this Puffy mattress review, My thoughts were that the Puffy was very comfy. As Ross said, Puffy mattress works well for lighter sleepers who still want good body conformance and pressure relief. It has excellent pressure relieving feel and even being lighter compared to other bed.

For me, being lighter, sometimes I would go for a medium softness because I don’t sink in as far, so I like that aspect of the Puffy. The overall feel is a good medium to medium soft firmness that most of you will like, it slept cool and performs great in all 3 sleeping positions, especially on your side.

Puffy uses the gel infused memory foam on the top comfort layers. The gel memory foam sleeps cooler and dissipates heat better than regular memory foam. Personally, we had no issues overheating. This mattress is a tough area to critique other than the fact it was good for us. Some people may sleep even warmer than me, but overall it should stay cool for most people.

Shipping -The Puffy mattress is available in six different sizes that are same as the standard US mattress dimensions.

The shipping box of the puffy mattress and its size can be selected according to the needs and requirements of the customer.

All Puffy mattresses are made to order and prepared in immaculate conditions so that the mattress stays compressed for as little time as possible and feels fresh when unpacked.

Once the mattress is ready, it is compressed, vacuum sealed, and rolled into a cardboard box for shipping.

The company uses the latest technology to compress all the sizes of the mattress including the Cal King into a single sized box which is 19″ x 19″ x 42″ in size.

The box is white and has the Puffy logo printed on it. The box looks simple yet appealing and the size makes it easy to maneuver and manage.

The company provides free shipping via FED-EX to the contiguous 48 States and charges $150 for shipping to Hawaii and Alaska. The company also offers free shipping to most of the states in Canada.

Since the mattress is made to order, therefore it will take about 2 to 3 days to prepare the order. The mattress will be shipped in about 3 to 6 business days.

It is very easy to set up the mattress once you receive it, all you need to do is unbox the mattress, put it over a foundation, and cut open the packing.

The mattress will start to decompress itself and will automatically take its proper shape in a few hours.

Warranty – Limited Lifetime warranty – Puffy is highly confident about their sleep system and states that it will be the best foam mattress that you have ever tried, and therefore backs up the bed with one of the best warranties offered in the mattress industry.

The company offers a limited lifetime warranty with the mattress which means that the company has you covered for as long as you own the mattress.

The limited warranty covers all the manufacturing defects faced throughout the life of the mattress.

If any defects are detected in the workmanship or materials during the first ten years from the date of purchase, then the company will replace the mattress with a brand new Puffy mattress free of cost.

If any defects are experienced in the first ten years, then the company will either repair or replace your mattress at its discretion.

They will also charge a $50 shipping cost incurred each way which will be waived off if it is confirmed that a manufacturer’s defect is present.

At your discretion, the company also offers a unique “Quick Sleep” option as a part of your lifetime warranty.

After the completion of the first ten years you can opt to choose this option, where rather than repairing or replacing your mattress, the company provides you with a new mattress at half of the original price you paid to buy the bed.

You get to keep the old mattress as well.

The warranty covers any visible indentations that are higher than 1.5 inches and manufacturing flaws in the zipper of the cover as well.

This mattress is valid only for the original purchaser of the mattress and does not transfer if the bed is sold further after the first ten years, then the company will either repair or replace your mattress at its discretion.
Sleep Trial Period – 101 nights

Puffy offers a 101 night risk-free trial with its mattress, which means that you can return the mattress within the first 101 nights from the date of delivery if you are still not convinced with its quality or comfort.

It is recommended to use the mattress for at least 3 to 4 of weeks before deciding as it takes time for the human body to adapt and adjust to a new comfort level.

If for some reason, however, you are not satisfied with the mattress, then all you need to do is contact the company within the specified period and they will schedule a free pickup for the mattress.

Once the mattress is picked up, the company will donate it to a local charity and refund you all your money.

There will be no hidden, shipping, or transportation costs charged or deducted from your refund.

The donation policy of the company ensures that your foam mattress will not end up in a junkyard, and will be given to those who are in real need of it.

If you stay in Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada and decide to return the mattress under the 101-Night Trial Policy, then the company will not be able to refund you the shipping charges paid for the original delivery of the mattress.

Overall Review Summary

Bottomline for this Puffy mattress review is that it’s a good choice for lighter sleepers under 280lbs and a great choice for side sleepers. Overall we have a good experience on the mattress.

You do get the cloud sensation when laying down. It has good pressure relief and slept cool.
