The comfort of the Mattresses:
Helix Elite:
Firmness of the mattress depends upon the firmness ordered, but with the zipper system it is possible to change the feel without ordering a whole new mattress. The main one we sell the most is the midnight. With the high-quality foams and zoned support this mattress provides excellent pressure relief with great support at the same time.
Brooklyn Thermobalance Elite:
They have 3 firmness’s. All of them have a pretty plush quilt on top which adds to the luxury feel. The depending on the firmness different densities on comfort layers. The medium is out most sold with very good pressure relief and support with the added lumbar support they pack in this from the coil unit and the firmer foams in the middle.
Durable Mattress:
They offer 3 firmness’s. The medium is our most sold and it also has a great balance of pressure relief and support. The serene foam is faster responding than memory foam but has all the same benefits of pressure relief but sleeps cooler. The medium feel will work great for all sleeping positions.
Construction and Materials of Mattresses:
Thermobalance Elite Construction:
The Brooklyn Bedding ThermoBalance Elite is a 15.5-inch luxury cooling hybrid with a thick comfort package on top and an 8-inch coil support system underneath. The exact foam mix changes slightly by firmness, but the general build is:
- ThermoCool cover — cooling fibers designed to pull heat away from the sleep surface.
- 0.75″ ThermoPhase foam — phase-change cooling foam that absorbs and releases heat.
- Two 0.75″ quilt foam layers — adds plushness, breathability, and helps resist body impressions.
- Copper-infused memory foam / high-density memory foam layers — pressure relief, contouring, and cooling benefits. The medium model includes 1″ HD 4.0 Copper Memory Foam and 1″ HD 5.0 Memory Foam.
- VX 2.5 responsive foam — gives the mattress a quicker response so it does not feel too dead or stuck.
- VariFlex transition foam — adds balanced support between the comfort foams and coil system.
- 0.75″ zoned lumbar support layer — extra support through the lower-back area to help with spinal alignment.
- 8″ Ascension Max encased coils — up to 900 individually encased coils for support, contouring, motion isolation, and durability.
- 0.75″ supportive base foam — stabilizes the coil unit and adds long-term structure.
Brooklyn Bedding positions the ThermoBalance Elite as the more premium version of the ThermoBalance, with multiple high-density foams, responsive foams, targeted lumbar support, and the upgraded Ascension Max coil system
Helix Elite Construction:
The Helix Elite is a 15-inch luxury hybrid mattress built with a thick comfort system, dual microcoil layers, and a reinforced zoned coil base. The exact firmness foams change depending on the model, but the general construction is:
- GlacioTex Elite cooling cover / cooling top fabric — cool-to-the-touch surface designed to pull heat away from the mattress. Helix also offers an optional CoolForce cooling upgrade on some Elite models.
- 2-inch premium cooling pillow top — a thicker quilted pillow-top layer for a plush, luxury-hotel style first feel.
- Comfort foam layers — model-specific foams that change the feel from soft to firm. For example, the Midnight Elite uses Helix gel memory foam plus ultra-dense SupremeSupport 7.0 Memory Foam for contouring and pressure relief.
- Two microcoil layers — Helix uses two separate ½-inch steel microcoil layers inside the Elite mattress. These are placed between foam layers to improve pressure relief, airflow, durability, and motion isolation.
- Custom firmness foam layer — Helix Premium Responsive Foam tuned to the specific Elite model, whether soft, medium, firm, or plus-size support.
- Foam support / transition layers — high-density support foams that help keep the mattress supportive without making you feel stuck in the top layers.
- 8-inch zoned coil support system — individually wrapped coils with reinforced lumbar support under the hips and reinforced perimeter coils for stronger edge support.
- DuraDense base foam — a stable foam layer at the bottom that supports the coils and helps the mattress keep its structure.
Overall, the Helix Elite is built like a high-end hybrid: thick pillow top, dense memory foams, dual microcoils, zoned steel coils, reinforced edges, and strong cooling features. Its construction is aimed at luxury comfort, better airflow, stronger support, and longer-term durability.
Durable Mattress Construction:
The Durable 2-Sided Mattress is a flippable hybrid mattress, so the big construction advantage is that it has usable comfort layers on both sides instead of only one. That lets you rotate and flip the bed to spread out wear and help reduce body impressions over time. Durable says the opposite side uses the same comfort layers, which is what allows it to be flipped.
Construction, top to bottom:
- Cooling cover — optional cool-to-the-touch fabric upgrade designed to pull heat away from the body.
- 1-inch high-density quilting foam — gives the mattress its initial cushioned feel while still keeping the surface supportive.
- Serene pressure-relief foam — this is the main comfort layer. Durable says it sleeps cooler, relieves pressure, lasts longer than traditional memory foam, and responds faster so you do not get that stuck-in-the-bed feel.
- HD support transition foam — adds deeper support between the comfort foam and the coil system.
- Zoned pocketed steel coils — the support core uses solid steel pocketed coils with zoning. The center of the mattress is reinforced for better back/lumbar support, and the edges use stronger coils for edge support.
- Reinforced edge support — Durable uses edge-to-edge coils and claims its edges are stronger than many other online mattress brands.
- Built-in handles — helpful because this mattress is designed to be flipped and rotated.
- Same comfort layers on the other side — the bottom side mirrors the usable comfort design, giving you a true two-sided mattress rather than a one-sided hybrid.
The Soft, Medium, and Firm versions follow the same basic build, but the comfort and transition foams are tuned differently. The Soft is aimed more at side sleepers, the Medium is the most balanced option for all sleep positions, and the Firm is better for back sleepers, stomach sleepers, and heavier sleepers.
Overall, the construction is focused on durability first: two-sided design, HD foams, Serene foam, zoned pocketed coils, reinforced edges, and handles so you can actually flip it.
