The pillar mattress is very nice, especially for the price. Being a lesser known brand you do not see the price increases yet that generally happen with a very well known brand.

Obviously, the most important aspect of a new mattress is how it feels to sleep in.
Firstly, this mattress has a 2″ layer of super soft and cozy wool quilt foam on top. It provides a cushion feel on top and the cooling fabric that is actually cool feeling.
Next you have 2″ of comfort foam. As you lay down you feel the pressure relief this layer provides and you sink in and conform the perfect amount, but not too much to where you get hot.
Next is the 2 inch support layer which provides excellent support above the coils.
The feel for me at 200lbs was great on the medium soft, it had enough support for back and stomach sleeping but was definitely soft enough for side sleeping. If you were back and stomach only the medium firm might be the better choice for you.
Overall the firmness’s are around 5.5-6, which is right in there where most people are going to like.
The last thing you want is for the mattress to retain heat. During the summer months, it will feel like sleeping in a heater, causing you to sweat during the night. Thankfully, this isn’t something that you need to worry about when you purchase the Pillar Mattress . It uses some innovative technology to keep you cool.
First the cover is cooling. Now some might think this is a gimmick but it actually feels cooler. Since I do use a protector I have a protector with cooling on it as well however. The coper memory foam is where it really makes a difference, normal memory foam sleeps much hotter. We did not experience a lot of heat retention on this mattress at all.
In our experience this mattress sleeps as cool.
Pillar like most brands use a pocketed coil unit which greatly reduces motion. Unlike many brands they have a full 6 inches of foam above the coils. More foam = less motion.
We experience almost no disturbance from each other as well move around or get in and out of bed.
The Pillar mattresses work well on adjustable bases, as such they also sell bases.

The pillar mattresses has stronger coils around the perimeter of the mattress. You do notice this and the edge is as good as any of the top brands we have reviewed. You will not have a roll off the mattress feeling whatsoever on this mattress.

Off Gassing was not an issue at all. This uses safe materials and is also not roll packed which can cause off gassing in other brands. You will have a “new” smell as with any new mattress but this will dissipate quickly. The foams are all CertiPUR certified meaning they have nothing harmful in them.
We think this mattress is definitely worth the consideration. It actually stacks up to many well-known brands in terms of feel and Contruction but has a much lower price than many of those brands.
Overall Summary
This mattress was a first for me in terms of design and Contruction. I was pleasantly surprised at how much we like the mattress. We continue to use it today. The build, the support, the adjustability, all of it is very good. I think a lot of tech and though went into these mattresses. They are on the pricier side of the mattress industry, but they are not your average mattress, so it is expected when looking at a more luxury product. Overall, if you are seeking great support, pressure relief and adjustability this could be a good option for you to consider.
