Alexander Signature Review
The Alexander Signature Series is a gel memory foam mattress from Nest Bedding. Nest also offers several other collections as well however, this is their best seller. The Alexander Signature Series comes in three different firmness’s. Each one is suited towards specific sleeping preferences. Pick the one best suited for your sleeping.
The Alexander Luxury Firm is best for back and stomach sleepers. Ideal for back and stomach sleepers. The Alexander Medium Plush is best for back and side sleepers. 92% of sleepers will like the medium. The Alexander Soft feels like a super soft plush hug, best for the side sleepers who love to snuggle up in.
You will like Signature Series if you:
You want a good value – The Nest Alexander Signature Series stacks up to many of the big box store brands you will find in stores but will save you money.
Like to sleep cool – Foam mattresses can sleep warm. However, the design of the Nest disperses heat efficiently. The quilting layers on top keep you from sleeping directly on the memory foam which can get warm. The airflow poly layer also helps to circulate air to aid in cooling as well.
Value a choice of firmness – Nest is not claiming that one mattress is “perfect for everyone” which makes total sense! Their triple choice gives you options.
Are a heavier sleeper – When compared to a 10″ mattress the Nest is a good option if you are a heavier sleeper. I wouldn’t recommend an all foam mattress under 11″ for anyone over 250lbs.
Like the combo of bounce and body conformance – for having 4″ of memory foam the Nest Alexander is still very east to move around on. This is because of the quilting layers on the top. It integrates well with the memory foam to give you a good combo of body conformance but without feeling “stuck”.
Want good edge support – So far the Nest Alexander has had the best edge support for an all foam mattress we have tested. Sitting and laying down the edge support does its job.
You might not like Signature Series if you:
Prefer a coil mattress – Nest Alexander Signature is an all foam mattress. So if you prefer coils you can look into their hybrid option as well. But the all foam version is comfortable but won’t change your mind most likely if you are a innerspring lover.
Have a tight budget – Although the Nest Alexander Signature is a great value for how its made and how it specs out it’s still over $1000 for a queen. So if you’re looking to go cheap, you will need to look somewhere else. If you are considering a Temperpedic or an Icomfort, this is a great alternative.
Nest Bedding Construction
Quilt – 2″ Soft quilted cover
4″ of cooling Gel Memory foam
1″ Visco Foam
2″ Smart flow foam
4″ Support Core
Nest Bedding Mattress Cover
Nest uses a nice, thick quilted cover. It adds a nice feel on top of the 4″ of Memory Foam.
The cover is soft and plush feeling and good for cooling as it is not too thick.

Nest Bedding Alexander Foundation
This mattress will work great on any solid surface. Wood foundation/boxspring, slats, floor and will work great on an adjustable base. (see video below)
His and Hers – Firmness and Feel:
My thoughts (Ross)
I enjoyed the Nest Alexander Signature Series for the following reasons.
A.) The quality of the build is above average for the online market space.
B.) I really like the way the 2″ quilt feels on top of the Gel layer. Typically with 4″ of Memory foam on a mattress gives you sinking and stuck feeling. Having that quilt layer made the mattress perform and feel a little more like a traditional mattress.
C.) It has fantastic body conformance without a stuck feeling.
D.) Great edge support for a foam mattress
E.)I like that its not another 10″ mattress, its more substantial making it also a good option for heavier people.
F.) It’s available in 3 firmness options
Her thoughts (Kayla)
Being only 125lbs I tend to like a mattress that has more than 3″ of comfort foam to help it conform better to my body being that I am lighter. This mattress conformed very well for both of us. Next, this mattress just felt and looked luxurious. I think it’s a great option for anyone who is looking for a higher end feel.
Temperature:
The Nest Alexander fends against overheating with a 2″ layer of quilting foam that will not trap heat as much as memory foam on top. Nest they use a gel memory foam layer which is cooler than traditional memory foam. On the transition layers they have a smart flow foam that is designed to help with airflow and to remove some heat from the upper layers. Overall with having 4″ of Gel memory foam it slept cool. The top quilting layers help a lot in my opinion to keep it cooler.
