Obviously, the most important aspect of a new mattress is how it feels to sleep in.
Firstly, this mattress has a 1″ layer of super soft and cozy wool on top of the cover. I had never experienced this before and it feels very nice on top. It adds a very nice and soft cushion above the comfort layer. I also like the separation from the comfort layer, it allows for better airflow and cooler sleep.
Next you have 3″ of comfort foam. As you lay down you feel the pressure relief this layer provides and you sink in and conform the perfect amount, but not too much to where you get hot.
Once you conform in you feel the support layer of the air zones. This was also a first for me. They are VERY supportive and provide excellent back support.
The firmness dials initially I didn’t feel like they changed the feel. Until I went to bed later the next day. It seemed to take a bit of time to adjust the air. But now you can noticeably tell on my wife’s side that it is softer. This seems like magic being that nothing is plugged in and there’s no electronics to deal with. I think it is a genius design .
Overall the firmness’s are around 5.5 on the softer setting and 7.5 on the firmer setting. Subtle but noticeable.
We very much like this mattress and will continue sleeping on it between review samples.
The last thing you want is for the mattress to retain heat. During the summer months, it will feel like sleeping in a heater, causing you to sweat during the night. Thankfully, this isn’t something that you need to worry about when you purchase the Naturalform Mattress . It uses some innovative technology to keep you cool.
First the cover has a layer of wool. Sounds hot right? Thats what I thought but it is not. Wool wicks away moisture to help you stay cool when weather is hot, and warm when the weather is cold. Additionally, I like that this provides a layer of separation from the comfort layer. Generally, the comfort foams are what traps heat. This wool layer separates that and allows for better airflow.
In our experience this mattress sleeps cool.
It was a first for me sleeping on a mattress that uses this type of build so I was not sure how it would perform for motion. We have been pleasantly surprised in that motion reduction is very good. We experience almost no disturbance from each other as well move around or get in and out of bed.
The Naturalform mattresses work well on adjustable bases, as such they also sell bases.

The Naturalform Refresh Mattress has about the best edge support we have experienced. In the seated and laying down position you can feel the firm edge. I am most concerned about edge support in the laying down position and whether or not I feel like I am rolling off the bed. You do not feel that at all on this mattress. It is about the firmest edge I have sat on as well. The do a nice job of having a firm edge but you do not feel it when laying down as in its not too high giving you a roll to the middle feeling.

Off Gassing was not an issue at all. This uses safe materials and is also not roll packed which can cause off gassing in other brands. You will have a “new” smell as with any new mattress but this will dissipate quickly.
Overall Summary
This mattress was a first for me in terms of design and Contruction. I was pleasantly surprised at how much we like the mattress. We continue to use it today. The build, the support, the adjustability, all of it is very good. I think a lot of tech and though went into these mattresses. They are on the pricier side of the mattress industry, but they are not your average mattress, so it is expected when looking at a more luxury product. Overall, if you are seeking great support, pressure relief and adjustability this could be a good option for you to consider.
