This means that the carbon footprint for each one is kept to a minimum and also that it will naturally degrade over time. The reason we mention it here is because; when you think of a plant-based fiber the first thing that comes to mind is not comfort… and this is a product that will likely change your mind about this in future!
When you order this comforter it actually comes with a free eye mask that has lavender infused into it. The idea is that the two products together will give you a fantastic night’s sleep. We are here to tell you that you don’t need them both! The mask is wonderfully soothing, but you can literally feel the difference this comforter makes from the second that you latch it on to your duvet. This material is known as Lyocell and is actually made from the slow dissolution of wood pulp from eucalyptus trees. Of course, since Buffy are all about the Eco conscious way of life; these plant based materials are fully sustainably sourced. Not only that, but they will biodegrade if you put them in a specialist facility.
Eucalyptus is an interesting choice because it is naturally soothing. It is known to have anti-inflammatory properties making it great for acne. It is also naturally anti-microbial, meaning that it is resistant to building up unhealthy levels of bacteria. What we don’t like about the materials used is that Buffy recommend the product is dry-clean only. While most of us have duvets that are also dry-clean only this isn’t a problem really. To those of us who specifically bought duvets that could be machine washed to save ourselves some money, this is a different story.
Although the manufacturers instructions are to dry clean only, we have heard tell that you can wash this comforter as long as you do so on a low heat setting with minimal soap. Try it at your own risk and do not admit that you read it here…
Construction wise we do love the quilting as it adds to air flow and helps that all-important temperature regulation. We also love the feel of the fabric and can hardly believe that it is made from wood pulp. It has also been designed so that you can loop it onto your regular duvet, or put it in a duvet cover of its own. Depending on the weather, you may wish to try both!

I have angered Buffy a little taking too long to finish this review. The reason is becasue I ahve been using it. I need to film a video for it consodering I LOVE IT! The original is in my spare room and everyone also comments on how amazing it is. Buffy I’ll film soon! Great products.
Overall, we think this is a tremendous product that far outperformed what we thought it was capable of. For such a seemingly thin cover it has maximum impact under the sheets. It leaves you feeling cooler, with clearer skin and breathing easier. We wouldn’t be surprised if we heard reports that it had cured snoring while it was doing its other job of keeping you cool as you sleep.
We rated this product highly because there weren’t many areas where it can be faulted. It doesn’t have motion reduction technology and it doesn’t provide edge support… because it’s a comforter… but these are two areas we would normally assess when covering mattresses in our reviews. Perhaps the lack of these two categories is pushing the score up? We don’t think so. We just think it’s pretty great.
We recommend using this product if you sleep hot, if you have the extra cash and if you are in need of sleeping solutions with a difference. It scored so highly across the board that it earned a straight 10 out of 10 for overall value and recommendation. If you sleep hot there’s no need to suffer. Invest in a Buffy Breeze Comforter and you might never sweat in your sleep again.
