Summary
Hyphen performs great and is a good option for those of you that don’t want a traditional mattress but also don’t want a total memory foam feel where you have more of a quick sand feel.
Hyphen is a great mattress choice for those of you that are looking for a mattress that truly works well in all positions, sleeps cool and best of all conforms nicely without giving you a stuck/sinking feeling.
Overall – Hyphen performs great and is a good option for those of you that don’t want a traditional mattress but also don’t want a total memory foam feel where you have more of a quick sand feel.
Want a good value – Hyphen utilizes the direct to consumer model so you can save some money there! Its less expensive and out performs many of the online brands.
Like to sleep cool – The foams Hyphen uses are all designed to keep the mattress cool. The performance for us proved their design works in that area.
Value bounce and body conformance with great pressure relief – Hyphen doesn’t give you a stuck feeling at all, provides good pressure relief and is easy to adjust positions.
Are looking for a mattress to fit all sleeping positions – Hyphen is a good medium feel and it performed well for all of our sleeping position tests. I truly think its great for all.
Want low motion transfer while still having some bounce- Hyphen still gives you great motion reduction while still maintaining good bounce.
Want a super soft mattress – Hyphen is a medium feel. If you prefer an extra soft mattress you will want to look elsewhere. Or extra firm.
Don’t like foam mattresses – If you are a spring mattress lover you may want to consider something with coils.
Are a heavier sleeper – I usually recommend mattresses more than 10″ thick if you are over 300lbs.
Want more of a memory foam feel – Hyphen still conforms like memory foam but without as much of a slow response and sinking feel. But if you know you like the memory foam feel you may want to look elsewhere.
Top layer (cooling & comfort) – 2″ custom Hyphen foam. The top layer offers both the cooling and initial level of comfort for the sleeper.
2nd layer – 2″ transition poly foam.
Bottom layer (foundational) – 6″ high density support foam.
The cover of the Hyphen is flashy and durable. It is polyester & spandex, this cover breathes well and allows good airflow and snaps back into place if tugged on.
The Hyphen Mattress will work great on any solid surface. Plop it on the floor, a wood foundation/boxspring, platform with slats or even an adjustable base.
We has a nice time on the Hyphen. I truly liked the feel of it. You get good conformance and bounce at the same time.
The Hyphen Mattress impressed me for the following reasons.
A.) It has very good pressure relief.
B.) The top comfort layer really didn’t get hot and had good bounce.
C.) It worked well in all sleeping positions. Even for 100% side sleepers, which I don’t say too often for mattresses under 11″
D.) The overall feel vs. price makes it a good value.
e talking additional premium foam you tend to get better body conformance and less motion transfer.
I tend to like soft mattresses as I am a lighter person and it takes a softer feel for me to feel like I’m sinking in and getting some body hug (which I like). This is where I though the Hyphen foam performed amazing. I still felt hugged and supported and Ross still felt the bounce and not too much hug even though he’s heavier than me.
Over all the Hyphen performs great and is a good option for those of you that don’t want a traditional mattress but also don’t want a total memory foam feel where you have more of a quick sand feel.
The Hyphen foam did not trap heat hardly at all. Its also an aerated foam and that greatly helps with airflow. I am a firm believer that eventually your mattress will end up the temp close to your body but some foam disperse heat better than others. I cannot say if it was the Hyphen foam alone or not but we didn’t get hot.
We reviewed Hyphen in king so were unable to film the base test. However, being a foam mattress Hyphen will work great on an adjustable base should you choose to get one.
