I spent a little more time looking for a bed that would support myself and my boyfriend who is a little bigger. I didn’t want to pay a lot of money but I did need something that would last and support both of us. It has been a comfortable bed and is as strong as an ox.
I was pretty apprehensive to buy a mattress without trying it out first, but I did a lot of research and decided to take the plunge. I tried several different memory foam mattresses in stores and I’d say this one is superior to the others. The firmness level is just right: not too hard and not too soft. I sink in just enough to feel supported, but not so much that it’s difficult to move. I wake up less in the middle of the night and I’m not sore in the morning. I am very pleased with our purchase.
I ordered my Idle Sleep Hybrid medium firm bed about 5 weeks ago based on both the recommendation of an acquaintance and online reviews. I have been nothing short of elated at the quality of the bed and how well I sleep on it. It is plush and yet supportive and my girlfriend is staying over more often now which is an added bonus.
My Idle all foam bed has helped my back immensely and for a very reasonable price. Beds similar to this that I have found in stores are close to $1000 more. I was able to do my own research without being pressured to buy and ended up getting a really good deal on this bed.
The first thing you will do when you get your Idle mattress is bring it to the room you will open it in. You do not want to unroll it in another room. Once you are ready to open it you can use the cutter some brands provide, if not use a scissors and be careful not to cut the fabric.
As it starts opening it will expand quickly and you will only notice a slight “new mattress smell”. The Idle mattress is made in the USA so it is not roll packed very long, which helps with minimize off gassing.
This an all natural mattress so there is no off gassing. But you will always have a “new” smell. Which dissipates.

IDLE will work on any solid surface. A wood foundation, boxspring, slats, the floor and will work on an adjustable base.
Essentially you just want to make sure whatever youre using the mattress on is flat. An old boxspring a lot of times is still good but make sure its not bowed in the middle.
This will work on an adjustable base to a point but don’t expect to be sitting straight up and down. Most people want to elevate the head some for reading or watching tv. It will work well enough for that.
I had a good experience on the IDLE Hybrid. Being that I own a mattress store I am very familiar with 1 and 2 sided mattresses and we are a store that sells both where most large stores only sell 1 sided models.
In terms of feel, we tested the latex in medium. It had a really good feel. A lot of times I feel like latex is a but too firm. It had good contouring while providing really good support. This is an impressive mattress in terms of feel and build quality.
It is heavy! So make sure you have 2 people to move and set it up.
The quality is very high and being able to spin and flip your mattress will extend the life of it.
This mattress slept very cool. Latex in general tends to sleep cooler than memory foam. In medium I had good body conformance but not an engulfing feel. SO much of your body is exposed to the air vs sinking way in and getting warmer. The latex is also aerated which helps with airflow.
If you sleep hot latex is the way to go. Even with infused memory foams that claim to be cooler, latex will be better for heat every time.
All of the IDLE Mattresses are tested to work on adjustable bases. That is why they also offer one on their website. In my experience I have found that mattresses with quilts can bunch up a little when adjusted all the way up but typically it will not be an issue or hurt the mattress.

Idle is a newer company to the online space but has come out with a whole line of mattresses, offering good quality and bringing back the 2-sided design.

Overall Summary
This IDLE Mattress and the regular hybrid were some of the nicest mattresses we have reviewed in a while. Coming from a store owner who used to sell 1 and 2 sided mattresses I see the value in being 2 sided. The latex hybrid is a tank, it is built very well and is all natural for those seeking that feature.
The feel was perfect for all positions. If you are over 350lbs I would look at the firm version maybe or if you just know you like something firmer in general. It has good pressure relief for a latex mattress while maintaining good support.
